By installing and using Paywall Finder, you agree to the following terms.
Paywall Finder checks Unpaywall and Semantic Scholar for a free, legal copy of the article currently open in your browser tab. It does this by detecting a DOI on the page and querying these public academic databases.
Results depend entirely on what Unpaywall and Semantic Scholar have indexed. Some articles that are genuinely free to read (for example, ones a publisher has made freely available without a formal open-access license) may not be found, even if a free copy exists elsewhere. Paywall Finder makes no guarantee that a "no free version found" result means no free version exists.
Paywall Finder is free to use and does not require an account, sign-up, or payment.
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
